Anyone have any ideas on what I might do to repair this? Reset this PC and try again tomorrow? Houston Technology Consulting is an IT service provider. I have it resolved now. I followed a manual uninstall process for both and I then reinstalled and it worked.

The only lingering issue was the icons remained. However, if I clicked one I’d get an error about a broken shortcut and the option to delete it. That worked.

Why did I have to do this? Pictures helped. Didn’t match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures.

I am running Win 10 In so many years of using Windows I have never come across such a problem! And this also happens for pdf documents. But that is it – only Office and PDF icons are jacked up – all other apps display proper icons. It doesn’t seem to be harming anything but it is driving me nuts that I can’t figure out what’s going on and why and more importantly, unable to resolve it. Was this reply helpful?
